Crossing Water

At Old Sarum we at AirsportUK, like to support pilots in their quest to travel. Microlights now have the capability to travel long distances, so why not fly to France, pop over to Alderney for dinner, see Snowdon and the stunning landscapes of Wales - today!

We encourage pilots to use their licences to the full. Old Sarum is wonderfully situated to explore all these fantastic places.

Our fly-outs give pilots the chance to go places they would not normally go. In 2009 we flew to Alderney five times, Lundy three times, and popped to the south of France. These adventures give a fantastic sense of achievement to those pilots who thought they would never cross water.

So keep a look out on our events diary, better still register on this site an you will be notified of any events as the are planned. Often I am asked why I cross the Channel - easy - because I can,.. and so can you!

Remember This Pilots
1) Why bother to have a life jacket if you're not going to ware it, and why bother to ware it if its past its sale by date. All life jackets have a shelf life usually 4 - 5 years ! AND , AND so do EPRB batteries
2) Take a safety knife with you. You're going to feel a bit silly stuck in your plane with all the latest kit on only to find you can't get out because your safety belt is jammed or are you are being throttled by your head set lead. 3) Immersion suits are a life saver but if you zip them up without dispelling some of the air you're going to look like Mr Michelin man in the aircraft, be an embarrassment to your passenger, and if you go into the water you'll probably stick to the roof like a rubber toy and stay there, so look cool and feel comfortable, let that gas out!
